Pirates of Penzance

The Pirates of Penzance tells the story of Frederic, a young man who, having mistakenly been apprenticed to a band of tender-hearted pirates, decides to leave them upon turning 21. He soon falls in love with Mabel, the daughter of a Major-General, but complications arise when it is discovered that Frederic's birthday on February 29th means he technically has many years left to serve. Amidst humorous misunderstandings and clever wordplay, the opera explores themes of duty, love, and the absurdities of legalistic interpretations. Ultimately, the story resolves in a joyful and harmonious conclusion as the true identities and loyalties of the characters are revealed.

The show was fully rehearsed and ready for performance in 2020, but it was ultimately canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite the cast and crew's hard work and dedication, safety concerns necessitated the cancellation. You can watch the recorded dress rehearsal here!
